It's fun watching your significant other lose his fear for the future. Whenever people asked us about marriage and children in the past, he used to freak out a little bit and get embarrassed. He only just realized about a month ago that it was okay to have fun planning the future. He did it all on his own, too! He realized that we both didn't plan on kids until waaaay way later, and marriage would happen whenever we're both ready (still a bit later on). However, he knows that we both want to spend the rest of time together. Therefore, he's been planning future things with me. ^-^ It's been so fun! We love looking at the possibilities that the future holds for us.

One of the things we've been talking about is children. We know we want only one or two. I know that I want a girl to be a part of that, and if a second kid is brought into the world, he/she can be a boy/girl. Minsu doesn't really care what gender cause he can see the benefits of either gender. =]

We were talking mainly about names lately. We decided that it'd be awesome if they could have a Korean name as either their main or middle name. That way, whenever we're in Asia or talking to Korean relatives, they can go by their Korean name. It's sounding like it'll be the middle name. We've had a few choices for what the Korean names would be...

Boys: Taemin, Kyumin, Minhwa, Yongjae, Sungmin, Jongmin, Minkyu.

Girls: Mina, Sunhwa, Mihi, Sunhee, Minji, Jiyeon, Taeyeon, Hyemi.

As of now, we're thinking it'll be Marilyn Mina Kim and Luka Minhwa Kim. ^-^

And if I get married, I'd be Ashley Lauren Kim. =3 In case you were wondering. Keke! I dunno if I'll adapt my own Korean name or not yet. I know some do when they move to Korea. =] But what would suit me best?

The American names are still up for grabs. I've been debating Aiden and Lukas, but after thinking about it, I prefer it being just Luka. Luka was going to just be the nickname. If you've read my fanfics, you'll know Marilyn AND Mina. I'm still sticking by Marilee and Lee Lee as nicknames for her. The girl's name is the only one I'm hesitant of changing. I think I'm gonna keep this for sure.

Hooowever, if I ever have a second girl instead of a boy, I'm not sure what I'd name her! x3 Not that it matters if I have something picked out at the moment, since it'll already be a long while until I have my first! Out of the other Korean girl names, I'm thinking Mihi. That way, it'd be Mina and Mihi. =] But I'm a fan of any of the names on our list.

As for boys, Taemin's still my favorite name! x3 And it's my mom's favorite out of them all, as well. So I might use that. If not, maybe I should do another M name to keep on the tradition? x3 Whooo knows.

At the same time, I was thinking of maybe finding "A" names for my children. At least for their American names. Korean names about always start with a consonant. You see, Mom named me Ashley because it was something she had wanted ever since she was a kid. I've always loved the fact that she's Alison and I'm Ashley. Both "A"s. I think it's cute. Their Korean names are already looking to be traditional with their father! I can't think of an "A" name that I'm really a fan of for a girl, though. =/ Plus I'm a big fan of my Marilee plan. -sigh- We'll see? XD

Oh! So my umma, Dee, found this one site that meshes faces together to see what the two's child could possibly look like. You place dots at these various places on each person's face and say what race each picture is. Then they mesh them! I wasn't going to show Minsu at first... but I finally did today, and am so glad I did! He freaked out in a good way. ^-^ He's always said that we'd have adorable children, but this made him even more excited. He especially fell in love with how cute the girl was. It made him more excited to have a baby girl. =3
Here's the pics!

Again, for the names, it isn't something I need to worry about for quite some time. =] But I will say we've had so much fun planning! SO! We're also kinda curious in what you guys think. Leave your comments below! Be it names or whatever, let us know. =3

Which reminds me... A little thing we do know about our future wedding is that we'd love for it to happen surrounded by cherry or apple blossom trees. ^-^ If not a ton of them, then at least under one.

Isn't it exciting! My fiancé and I have been discussing children recently. Not names but adopting. I'm almost positive i won't be able to have one, or will be advised not to for potential risks. So we want to adopt at least one. It's exciting though. :)

Yeah fiancé XD

Happened on Xmas. But we are planning one of each. He was adopted so it holds a place in his heart but he also wants a biological one but whether that happens or not will be interesting. ^^'

T'm envious as to how your babies might turn out. They are so good-looking! Bryan and I have talked about this kinda stuff too. He wants to give our kids traditional Chinese names (his middle name is Chinese, Tzuwei) while I'd much rather give my kids a name that is meaningful regardless of the language. One of them is Virginia after my grandmother, whom I never knew because she committed suicide when my dad was 10, with the hope that her spirit would live on in the child.

I love the names Nadia and Faye for girls and Travis and Alexander for boys.

Awh thanks! ^-^
Hmmm. Maybe find names that have special meanings in Chinese? =] Like think of a word that represents your grandma and find that in Chinese. Then it's the best in both worlds!
But your idea definitely is a good one, too. Not a bad idea at all. I'm almost tempted to make David a part of the boy's name because of my grandpa David, and cause my Dad's middle name is also David. It'd be another tradition and another way to keep the memory going. It's just that I've always been one for cute, unique names. So we'll see~!
Plus, I also have another grandpa (Grandpa Nack [Ralph] also died) and two grandma's (Grandma Margo and Nana Mary). I think I'd feel mean choosing just one. But I do know how ya feel. I wish I could've met my Nana (Mom's side). She died from cancer when my mom was nineteen. Apparently, we're quite a bit alike. ^-^ Personality to our actions to our size.
